A Balance of Force For The New Year

As the year comes to a close, we all typically take the time to reflect on the past year and build hopes for the coming year.  At least for myself and my family, this past year was one of many ups and downs, with more downs than ups, and I cannot wait until this very trying year is over.  I know that I am not alone in this sentiment, as many others have suffered hardships during this past year.  As we move forward into 2015, I have great hopes and dreams of a good year, especially with the upcoming Celebration in April and the new movie in December.  Realizing that life is not always about Star Wars, I do have great hopes and dreams for my everyday life, which I choose not to divulge here as they are very personal.

Of course, I could not leave out a connection with Star Wars 😉  Whenever I think about celebrating a new year, I am always drawn to the celebrations at the end of Return of the Jedi…when the Sith were destroyed and a balance of sorts was returned to the Force.  The citizens of the galaxy had a new reason to live and to celebrate…the oppression of the Empire was gone and a new age was beginning.  Just as we do every year with the beginning of the New year, the galactic citizens had a reason to have new hopes and dreams for the future…a future, hopefully, without the Sith.  The Dark Times were over and the Light Times were returned to the galaxy.  The *New Hope* had finally risen and had taken his place as a saviour and a leader.  Definitely a time to celebrate :)

I want to close this short blog with a very Happy Holidays and  a Happy New Year to all of you!!  I have a few ideas for some upcoming blogs that I will be working on over the next month, and this will hopefully become a series of sorts…stay tuned :)  Until then…here is a *Blast from the past* parody I did back in 2007 for our Balanced Force Day celebrations (if you were part of the official site blogosphere at the time, you will remember).  May The Force Be With You!!

This is to the tune “Santa Baby”…

Santa Ani, slip a starship under the tree…for me.

I’ve been an awful good girl.

Santa Ani so hurry out of hyperspace tonight.

Santa Ani, an Old Republic Jedi Starfighter, light yellow…

And I’ll wait up for you, dear.

Santa Ani, so hurry out of hyperspace tonight.

Think of all the fun I missed

Think of all the Jedi that I haven’t kissed

Next year I can be just as good

If you check off my BFD list.

Santa Ani, I want a droid,

Really to fill a void

I’ve been an angel all year

Santa Ani, so hurry out of hyperspace tonight.

Santa Ani, there’s something I really do need,

The deed, to the Lake Retreat house

Santa Ani, so hurry out of hyperspace tonight.

Santa Ani, fill my stocking with lots of treats, and meet

Me underneath the mistletoe

Santa Ani, so hurry out of hyperspace tonight.

Come and trim my BFD tree

With some decorations found at the Royal Palace

I really do believe in you

Let’s see if you believe in me

Santa Ani, forgot to mention one little thing, a ring

And I don’t mean through the Holo

Santa Ani, so hurry out of hyperspace tonight

Santa Ani…hurry out of hyperspace tonight

Santa Ani…hurry out of hyperspace tonight

Santa Ani…hurry…tonight….
