THE ‘SEVEN’ AWAKENS

Lucky Number Seven

No matter what your culture or traditions you tend to live your life by, the odds are, the number seven is significant.

Psychologists have done an extensive amount of research and have discovered proof of our simpatico or compatibility, with seven, over and over again.

That being said, all humans, no matter what ethnicity, have adapted to the seven-day week. Why? Because according to the Bible, God created the world in six days and on the seventh day, he rested. Intriguingly enough, the word ‘created’ contains seven letters.

Throughout history, mythology, science and religion, seven is a major commonality and profoundly prominent within each genre. Take for example, the rainbow – it too is classed by a spectrum of seven primary colors: red, yellow, green, blue, violet, orange, and indigo.

Delving into the folklore of good versus evil, it is said, that along with seven deadly sins there are seven virtues and those are: humility, chastity, kindness, patience, abstinence, diligence and liberality. Another interesting note is that in several parts of the world, there is a myth, that the seventh son of the seventh son is known to possess supernatural abilities, both good and bad. Is this what George Lucas was referencing to when he wrote his template to ‘The Journal of Whills’ and the Son of suns?

After researching this numeral’s occurrence and accountability, the evidence is remarkably cyclical, more than I ever thought possible and more than I’d like to count. Instead, I decided to take a closer look at the possibility of seven’s repetitiousness going into Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

As I begin, take note that the word ‘awakens’ has seven letters and also note, created does too. Is it possible, that the title of the seventh film bears reference, even to the slightest, if any, to the biblical creation of the world – in an aspectual accordance to the galaxy far, far away standards? In other words, a spiritual awakening or awareness – your surroundings seem the same, but you sense a shift or an energy pull, drawing you in a new direction, hence the force. Of course, I’m deriving this from the seven stages or creation of The Seeds of Life’ – electromagnetic radiation.

Significant Counts Of Seven

Are you ready for this? Again, these are just my personal musings, there are no official sources to back me up – all in all, this is just for fun and food for thought.

Before the Awakening, we have seen the number seven appear multiple times and here is my personal list: New Hope (7 letters), Han Solo (7 letters), Sidious and Emperor (7 letters), Amidala (7 letters), Tyranus (7 letters), Plagueis (7 letters) the wise, Dagobah (7 letters) and coincidentally enough, the planet with the highest amount of life (midichlorians) forms. Thusly,  making it the strongest known planet within the force. There is also number representation as well: 725 to 1. That said, 7 by itself and 2 + 5 = 7 which in turn, is 7/7 or 1 whole. Then there’s the famous 1138, or if you break it up this way: 8-3 = 5  and then add the remaining ones, you end up with seven, again.

There has been an awakening … have you felt it?

Ok, here’s where the fun begins:

Awakens (7 letters), Kylo Ren (7 letters), Kira Rey (7 letters) again, if this is truly her name. Knights (7 letters), Dameron (7 letters), Supreme (7 letters) Leader Snoke, and supposedly, there are seven significant players within the First Order. Lastly, seventh has seven letters and Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the seventh film of the Star Wars saga. In addition, if you add the letters of the names: Luke (4), Leia (4), Kylo(4), and Kira (4) – you end up with the number 16, but if you add one and six, you equate back to the number seven.

Will the number seven be lucky for JJ Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy, like it was for JK Rowling? Apparently Ms. Rowling believes in lucky number seven, for her seventh book of the Harry Potter series, Deathly Hollows was released in July (seventh month) of 2007. Did you happen to catch that too? Yes, Deathly and Hollows both contain seven letters, so that’s a total of four consecutive sevens. Or perhaps, JJ and Kathleen will follow the ways of Obi-Wan – “In my experience, there is no such thing as luck.”

Guess we’ll have to wait until opening day, December 18th 2015, to find out – which is only seven days before Christmas. Not saying that means anything. I mean, they’re not George and yes, I believe Mr. Lucas may be a tad on the superstitious side. Why do I think this? Well much like JK Rowling, it’s quite plausible, that he too, has a thing for dates. The original Star Wars opened up in theaters on May 25th, 1977. One could say this was a definitive use of the Trinity (777) and in turn, helped him to perfect his creation as it impacted the world … a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.
