Star Wars and My Local Grocery Story

I shop at my local grocery store every week and I am always on the lookout for Star Wars items. Over the last couple of years, the only items I found at my local grocery store were issues of Star Wars Insider, Star Wars fruit snacks and occasionally a Star Wars toy or book on the shelves.

Starting in late May/early June 2015, during the year of Star Wars, I started noticing some additional merchandise on the shelves including…

Jellybean packs, featuring: Storm Troopers, Darth Vader, and Yoda.

Mac and cheese shaped like Yoda, Darth Vader, R2-D2 and C3PO.

Boxes of cereal with Star Wars movie posters to find and collect

Today, there has been an explosion of Star Wars related merchandise that can be found at my local grocery store. I even believe this new merchandise covers a wider range of product types than when the prequel movies were coming out including…

Bottled water featuring our favorite droids from Star Wars The Force Awakens including BB-8, C3PO and R2-D2.

Balloons with Star Wars characters from both the classic movies and from The Force Awakens.

Displays of Star Wars and Star Wars Rebels children’s books.

Vitamins, cups, and even gum, featuring Star Wars The Force Awakens characters.

And of course, Star Wars graphic t-shirts.

Even an all Star Wars edition of a magazine for cosplayers, which has an awesome interview with George Lucas himself!

This warms my everyday Fangirl heart to see all this Star Wars merchandise where I shop every week and I cannot wait to see what more is added in the future.
