Sometimes you must set aside your differences …
In episode 7 of Star Wars Rebels: “Stealth Strike,” Commander Sato, Ezra, and their crew are taken captive by the Empire – it seems they have successfully constructed a new technological terror; a gravity well.

This leaves the Ghost Crew with only one choice and Hera, instructs Kanan to set aside his differences and join forces with Rex, in an undercover rescue mission.
“Just like old times” … only, someone has outgrown the traditional uniform. Ok, so physically Captain Rex has … expanded, but his mindset hasn’t, he still knows how to wear it. That said, he’s still as sharp as a whip and proves his worth, ten-times-over with clearance codes.

In the meantime, Commander Sato questions Ezra’s abilities and feels the boy suffers from Delusions of Grandeur, but that is so not the case. Like another Jedi we won’t get to see in action for at least another 6-7 years in the galaxy far, far away timeline, Commander Sato finds out, Ezra’s full of surprises. And escaping, happens to be his specialty.

“He takes after Hera sometimes.”- Kanan
Of course, he has a bit of help along the way. Chopper is once again, proving himself to be quite the handy little astromech – in more ways than one. Heck, he even knows how to defy gravity, in a manner of speaking of course.
While Ezra is busy working his own kind of magic, Rex and Kanan are learning that there’s no “I” in team. It’s a real eye-opener for the runaway Jedi, once known as Caleb Dume, a personal awakening. I’m not talking about the sting he felt from Ezra’s makeshift blaster/lightsaber either. For the first time, Kanan sees that not everything is what it seems and Rex, well, he isn’t at all like the Clones he knew, back when Order 66 was executed.
In the end, Kanan not only rescues Ezra, but he saves Rex as well as himself. What I mean is, in that moment of decision to go back and save the life of a man who bears the same face as those who took down his own Master, along with fellow Jedi, he renewed his own faith that hope is not lost.
