In light of last night’s “Red Carpet Awakens” event, it is important to remember where this so called journey began and to not only remember, but to embrace it – as we once again, continue along this epical “Hero’s Journey” into that galaxy far, far away …
Dearest JJ (Abrams), you herald a movie, not the saga … No, I’m not about to discredit anyone with this article and so, I apologize if my title may come across as misleading. My intentions are not ill-willed, in fact, quite the opposite. And yes, I’ve been engrossed with the “Santa Clause” films, hence the referencing within my title/heading.
Last night as the “Live Streaming” concluded and the attendees made their way inside to gander upon what we’ve all been so patiently (and perhaps, not so patiently) waiting to see, a tale of truth was told and one of cosmic events that surprisingly seemed to defy the slightest amounts of serendipity. To quote Master Qui-Gon Jinn, “Our meeting was not a coincidence. Nothing happens by accident.” Apparently this is true in real-life, not just in that galaxy far, far away.
Kathleen Kennedy told the audience a familiar story, but it seems, we were missing a lot of additional factors that have influenced this paramount production in ways that we could not even fathom in our wildest of imaginations.
Seriously, the series of events that she so graciously disclosed have forever changed my ideals, opinions, and faith, in this merging endeavor between Lucasfilm and Disney. Not to mention, it’s relativity to what we are about to embark on in only a few, yes, a few short days from now.
I implore everyone reading this, to click on that link above and read the entire article, trust me, you will not be disappointed.
That said, perhaps we have been looking at this whole experience the wrong way and not embracing it beyond the movie itself. Again, as a wise Jedi Master once said, “only what you take with you.” I believe that statement warrants true here … at least it does for me.

JJ Abrams and George Lucas #RedCarpetAwakens
So again, regarding my title, Mr. Abrams is responsible for this movie and its entertainment value, not the saga or the magnificent creation of the Star Wars universe. Even Mr. Ford said, “No it’s not my fault you can blame that on JJ (Abrams) – I just work here.”
We are all lucky and should be grateful for the man, “The Maker,” who started it all – a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. For without his vision and his generosity to share it with us, we wouldn’t have Star Wars and the force, in a few days, would not be … awakening.
See you all on the other side, fly straight and May the force be with you, always.
These ideas are merely my own musings of wonderment and meant solely for the fun purpose of speculation. You can find me on Twitter or contact me directly via email at or and to read more of my Star Wars ruminations, check out: Becca’s Chava Chats
